Using digital to enrich an induction session

This video shows you how a digitally enriched Induction session can work, making the best of both classroom and online methods.

The induction session is an opportunity to establish the vision for what your apprentices will achieve, and the ground-rules for the way they will work with you. As a blended learning session, it will also prepare them for the way digital can enhance their learning and assessment right from the start.

It is helpful to plan these sessions with digital in mind. Jisc provide some useful help on how to design an online induction session, which you can view if you follow the link in the See Also section. This website also provides advice and guidance for setting up your Apprenticeship Programme to make good use of digital methods.

The induction session at WhiteHat is classroom-based but includes group work and an introduction to the digital methods being used throughout the programme.

We have created a learning design for a similar induction session which you can download below.
