What do your apprentices want to achieve?

This video shows that it’s not all about developing new skills as providers are also using the apprenticeship programme to build on their learners’ existing digital skills.

With digital enrichment, apprentices can develop the professional digital skills and behaviours their employers find so valuable.

Your learners will probably have developed some digital skills for themselves, especially if they are young people. But the professional use of digital skills can be very different, and they may still need to work on their professional behaviours. As Sophie Ruddock pointed out in the video, it can be very motivating for learners to see progress in this area too.

Have a go:

  • If you used more digital methods or tools, how could this help your apprentices develop their professional skills and behaviours for your industry context?
  • Share your ideas in this Padlet
  • Note useful ideas for later reference in your course journal.

In the next step, you have the opportunity to test yourself on identifying Knowledge, Skills and Behaviours within a selection of apprenticeship standards.

Have your say:

In the Comments, discuss with other learners if you think sharing ideas in this way might benefit your colleagues or working team.

If another learner identifies an issue, respond to their comment with ideas to help if you can.
